My name is Hannah Parkin and I am the owner and photographer at Heartstrings Photography. My journey first started way back in 2009 when I decided to study for a Photography A Level at Sixth Form College. I had always found it fascinating and I really enjoyed learning how professional cameras work and the amazing features of photoshop. After leaving college, I fell into the financial sector and became an Accounts Assistant, studying for my Accounting qualifications on the side. I never felt satisfied in this role though, something was always missing and photography was always at the back of my mind.

In 2015 I gave birth to my first child, a daughter named Ellouise and this is when my love for capturing babies and children really began. I knew that this would be my dream career, but the timing wasn't right at this point. In 2019 my second child, a little boy called Dylan arrived and I had a "now or never" moment. It was time to pursue my dream. I purchased my first professional camera, and enrolled on an online course. I invested in a professional lighting system, knowing that studio photography was the route I wanted to go down. I started to build my business up from home, and in April 2020 (amid a global pandemic and national lockdown - call me crazy!) I got my studio.

Rest assured your precious baby is in safe hands with me. I am fully trained in newborn posing and safety, alongside being trained in paediatric first aid. I am a registered member of The Guild of Newborn Photographers, SWPP (The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) and The Baby and Newborn Photography Network. (previously known as BANPAS.) I am a registered volunteer photographer for the wonderful Butterfly Wishes Network, and I am fully insured.
